On November 2, the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of Renmin University of China hosted the symposium of "Theoretical System and Curriculum of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law" at Conference Room 1808 of Culture Building, which was the third session of the "Scientific Theory, Philosophy and Truth: Forum on New Thoughts for a Series Academic Activities launched by the Academy".

Prof. Feng Yujun, Associate Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era of Renmin University of China, Prof. Du Huanfang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Standing Committee of the Law School of Renmin University of China, Prof. Wang Xu, Associate Dean of the Law School of Renmin University of China, Prof. Zhou Ke from the Law School of Renmin University of China, Prof. Yu Zhong from the Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, Prof. Zhang Yan and Prof. Cheng Lei, Associate Deans of the Law School of Renmin University of China, Prof. Liu Jihua and Associate Prof. Peng Xiaolong from the Law School of Renmin University of China, and Guo Ye from the Law School of Beijing Normal University attended the symposium chaired by Vice Dean Feng Yujun.

Prof. Feng Yujun pointed out, the current and future priority in legal education at colleges and universities is to comprehensively incorporate Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law into textbooks and classrooms and make it a way of thinking, and explore how to effectively practice "Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law" in teaching, translate it into practice, and innovate talent training modes. Specifically, we should study how to transform the truth and connotations in the Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law from the textbook system into the discipline system and discourse system, and translate the practice value of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law from theory teaching to the construction of practical education system. We should incorporate Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law into the teaching of the rule of law theories at colleges and universities more effectively, exert its leading role in responding to doubts and hotspot issues, and leverage the educational function of courses of legal theories in the process of elaborating theories, philosophy and truth.

The participating experts mainly discussed the following questions: First, how to improve system reform and design to incorporate Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law in the teaching of the rule of 1aw theories at colleges and universities more effectively and translate it into practice; Second, how to improve the discipline system, textbook system and curriculum system based on the translation of theory into practice, and how to design curricula for students studying for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees; Third, how to integrate the rule of law in foreign-related affairs with other thoughts such as Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, and how to better combine Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law with the laws of different departments and international law in teaching. Participants also fully discussed the topics such as textbook design, curriculum, and teacher training.

Prof. Wang Xu concluded that the participating experts shared their ideas on "Theoretical System and Curriculum of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law" and brought enlightening views on the innovation of teaching modes from various aspects. The future curriculum should follow the philosophy of "diversified modules", "multifaceted design", and "optimization and innovation." He hoped that all scholars would pool their strengths to achieve the unity of ideological education and knowledge education, explore the multiple levels of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, originally interpret theoretical issues, and make greater contributions to developing the courses of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law.

Before the meeting, the experts visited the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
