On July 26, Zhang Leisheng, researcher of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and professor of the School of Marxism Studies of Renmin University of China, published an article in Marxism & Reality. She argues that the history of the CPC's economic thoughts is a 100-year history of adapting the Marxist political economy to the Chinese context and developing China's version of the Marxist political economy. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the development of the CPC's economic thoughts has entered a new era. The CPC members, with Comrade Xi Jinping as the chief representative, insisted on abiding by the principles and methods of the Marxist political economy, profoundly understood the historical position of China's economic and social development, and closely integrated the practice of building a socialist economy with Chinese characteristics. All these efforts led to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Economy with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. In the 100 years of the CPC's economic thoughts, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Economy with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era has made outstanding contributions to the Marxist political economy and reached a new realm in developing the socialist economy with Chinese characteristics.
