Upload time: November 18, 2021

On October 5, Qiu Haiping, Associate Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Professor of the School of Economics of Renmin University of China, published an article in People's Tribune. He claims that in the new phase of development, we must take Marxism and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guiding principles, improve socialism with Chinese characteristics, comprehensively and thoroughly apply the new development philosophy, accelerate the building of a new pattern of development, and advance substantive progress in realizing common prosperity. At present, we must maintain the strategic focus of boosting domestic demand, deepen the reform of income distribution and increase its adjustment, and advance substantive progress in achieving common prosperity.

In doing so, we must properly handle the following important relationships: (1) The relationship between economic development and common prosperity. (2) The relationship between ownership structure and common prosperity. (3) The relationship between the market economy and common prosperity. (4) The relationship between possession of wealth and common prosperity. In addition to properly handling these relationships, we must also pay close attention to other essential factors that affect common prosperity, such as urban-rural dual structure, uneven distribution of educational resources, and imbalanced regional development.

Under new circumstances, we must adhere to the guidance of Marxism and the Party's basic line, and accurately focus on the policies that advance substantive progress in achieving common prosperity.
