On May 28, as an important part of party history learning and education, a symposium was held by Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to study the history of socialist development and deeply understand the glorious course of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese people to constantly break new ground in socialism with Chinese characteristics. By carrying forward the revolutionary spirit and drawing strength from the Party’s history to forge ahead, fresh progress has been made in work related to Chinese people’s political consultative conference. Liu Wei, chairman of CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee and party secretary of Henan province, attended the symposium. Professor Tao Wenzhao, associate dean of the Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and associate dean of the School of Marxism Studies, Renmin University of China, was invited to give a special report on the history of socialist development.

In his report, professor Tao Wenzhao reviewed the long-standing and magnificent history of world socialism, based on specific time points and representative figures, elaborated how socialism has evolved from fantasy to science, from theory to practice and the great exploration of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the CPC.

Zhou Chunyan, vice chairman of CPPCC Henan Provincial Committee, said when presiding over the symposium that professor Tao Wenzhao’s active speech can help us to better learn socialist theory, explore the laws of socialist development, and strengthen our confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
