On August 2, Qin Xuan, Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and professor of the School of Marxism of Renmin University of China, published an article in People's Daily. He argues that arming the Party and educating the people, especially the youth, with the Party's innovative theories is a glorious tradition formed by the Party over the past century and valuable experience accumulated by the Party in leading all Chinese people from victory to triumph. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has attached great importance to the ideological and political education of young students. General Secretary Xi pointed out, "We must make good use of the overall ideological and political theory courses, and combine them with reality." General Secretary Xi's important remarks have pointed out the direction and provided guidelines for promoting the innovation of ideological and political education at school in the new era. In the context of socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era, the overall ideological and political theory courses are an important way to improve social civilization, an important course to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtues through education, and a compulsory course to guide young people to correctly understand the general trend of development and enhance their sense of mission and responsibility. To implement the concept of the overall ideological and political theory courses and teach well these courses, we must have the "Greatness of the Nation" in mind, and also a correct understanding and accurate grasp of the meaning of "greatness." Finally, to teach well the overall ideological and political theory courses is a complex and systematic project. We need to combine it with the characteristics of the new era, follow the law of education and the law of talent growth, and make practical moves and seek effective results in "good use" according to the cognitive characteristics of young students.
