Dialogue between China and the World - International Forum on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era Held at RUC

The Dialogue between China and the World - International Forum on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era was held at RUC on October 27, 2021. The event was co-hosted by the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, RUC. Experts and scholars from the U.S., UK, Italy, Russia, South Africa, Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Argentina, China and other countries were gathered online and offline. They conducted extensive and heated discussions surrounding the Communist Party of China and World Socialism, the Communist Party of China and Human Poverty Alleviation, the Communist Party of China and Ecological Civilization, the Communist Party of China and Progress in Human Rights, the Communist Party of China and Global Governance, and other themes.
When delivering a speech, Jin Nuo, Party Secretary of the Renmin University Committee of the CPC & President of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, said that she hopes the Forum can provide a platform and bond for the dialogue between China and the world, practically build a bridge for the exchanges and convergence of diverse civilizations, and facilitate multicultural communication and integration. She also hoped that the event can share the CPC’s experience in governing the Party and the country through enhanced interdisciplinary research, and explore feasible plans that allow more countries and nations to share the development achievements.
Jiang Hui, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said in his speech that there is a broad space to expand the development and progress of human civilization through Chinese-style modernization. With the gradual realization of China’s strategic development goals, history and practice will both prove that the Chinese-style modernization path has created a new form of human civilization, and its far-reaching historical and global significance will be further demonstrated.
Liu Yuanchun, Vice President of RUC & the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, presided over the Opening Ceremony. He noted that through the Forum, we will hear the understanding of and suggestions on the CPC from friends around the world, together build an international exchange and cooperation network, establish a high-level dialogue platform with international influence, and bring together powerful forces for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Thornton China Center, Brookings Institution, the U.S., Martin Jacques, Senior Researcher at the Department of Politics and International Studies, Cambridge University, UK, Michele Genovese, Honorary Chairman of the International Joint Initiatives Belgium, Alexander Lomanov, Deputy Director of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO) & Head of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, David Monyae, Director of the Centre for Africa-China Studies at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, Charles Onunaiju, Director of the Nigerian Center for Chinese Studies, Lamin Mohammed Kpaka, Executive Director of the Association of Community Social Volunteers International, Nigeria, B.R.Deepak, Professor and Chair, Centre for Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, Ngeow Chow Bing, Director of the Institute of China Studies, University of Malaya, Malaysia, and Gustavo Girado, Director of the Contemporary China Studies, National University of Lanus, Argentina.
Chinese scholars, such as Zhang Yongsheng, President of the Research Institute for Eco-civilization, CASS, Professor Wang Xiangming, Associate Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, RUC, Han Yuhai, Associate Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era & Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Peking University, Li Xiaoyun, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts, China Agricultural University, Chu Yunhan, Professor of Political Science at National Taiwan University, etc., attended the meeting and conducted dialogue and exchanges.
Tao Wenzhao, Feng Yujun, Qiu Haiping and Wang Yiwei, Associate Deans of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, RUC and Zhang Xiaomeng, Deputy Director of the International Office, RUC, organized the dialogue on five topics, respectively. Qin Xuan, Dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, RUC, delivered a concluding speech. He stated that experts have conducted profound exchanges on five topics and reaped fruitful results at the meeting. He added that the dialogue and discussions are just a start, hoping that everyone would continue to pay attention to the development of China and the world, discuss common issues in the development of human society, and contribute our wisdom to human progress.
