In his speech at a ceremony marking the centenary of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that on the day of its founding, the CPC made seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation its aspiration and mission. Why can the CPC succeed and why can the socialist system with Chinese characteristics develop?
In this episode of Qilu Forum, professor Wang Yiwei, associate dean of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Renmin University of China, will focus on the theme: Why the CPC can create a new human civilization. And he will explain why the new China led by the CPC can create miracles of mankind from the following three aspects: the miracle of industrialization, the miracle of digital civilization, the new civilization of mankind.
Wang Yiwei said that the leadership of the Party is the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics and constitutes the greatest strength of this system. From the perspective of the history of human civilization and the history of Chinese civilization, we can understand why the CPC has enabled China to transform from agricultural civilization to industrial civilization and then to digital civilization, and create the dual miracle of industrial civilization and digital civilization. Remarkable results have been achieved in targeted poverty alleviation and eradication, and comprehensive modernization, which has realized China’s modern political progress, and fulfilled China’s millennia-old dream and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 ten years ahead of schedule, additionally, established a Chinese model of national governance in the world, and innovated the political civilization of mankind.
