Recently, “Understanding the New Era” series, supporting reading materials for ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities, was officially published by China Renmin University Press, which was organized and compiled by the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education and approved by the Expert Committee of the National Textbook Committee.

This series of books is one of the major achievements of the Ministry of Education celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party. It has been selected as one of the Excellent Popular Theory Reading Publishing Projects of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China in 2020, and topic for publication by the National University Press of the Ministry of Education. This series of books provides learning materials for the education system to “strengthen the education action of ‘learning histories’ (the learning of the histories of the Party, New China, the reform and opening-up, and socialist development)”, especially the learning and education of the history of the Communist Party of China.

Among them, the author of What Brings Confidence in the Path is researcher Chen Peiyong from Peking University, the author of What Brings Confidence in the Theory is professor Qin Xuan from Renmin University of China, the author of What Brings Confidence in the System is professor Xiao Guiqing from Tsinghua University, etc., and the author of What Brings Confidence in the Culture is professor Shen Zhuanghai from Wuhan University, etc. The novel series of lively writing style is ideological, theoretical, popular and readable, with four-color printing and vivid illustrations. It is dedicated to explaining the theoretical logic, historical logic and practical logic of the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, clarifying the great significance of upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and persistently applying Xi Jinping Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to educate people and promote the Party’s innovative theories into the curriculum and make it a way of thinking.

The publication of the series will help young students continue to strengthen their commitment to the Four Consciousnesses, the Four-sphere Confidence, and the Two Upholds, deeply understand the capability of the CPC, the strength of the socialism with Chinese characteristics and Marxism, and the prosperity of Chinese culture to uphold the leadership of the Party. Moreover, it will foster their sense of patriotism to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, a modern socialist country, struggle to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and encourage them to rise up to the mission of national rejuvenation.
